6 tips to sell more at Christmas

Online Strategy – by Gabriela Zamora

The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year. Everyone is very busy planning trips to visit family, decorating their homes and, above all, doing what people do most this time of year: Christmas shopping. Food, clothes, decorations, and lots and lots of gifts. This is a great opportunity to sell at Christmas, and you can do it too with the following tips, which will help you make the most of the holiday season.

1. Give your visual communication a Christmas touch

One way to give your content a festive touch is to add Christmas elements that fit your brand and your message. You don't need to change your logo or put a Santa hat on it; instead, you can use graphic resources such as icons, stickers, filters or backgrounds for your posts or videos. That way, you'll create a Christmas atmosphere without losing your visual identity.

2. Take advantage of the fact that everyone wants gifts for everyone

Christmas is a time when everyone is looking for gifts for their family and friends, so when it comes to defining your potential customer, there aren't as many limits: it could be anyone.

On other holidays, such as Mother's Day or Father's Day, the potential customers and the products you can promote are more limited. Selling at Christmas, however, is one of the main appeals of the season, giving you the chance to offer all of your products as the ideal gifts.

You can create gift idea lists for fathers, mothers, children, friends, coworkers, partners, and more. Or you can make suggestions aimed at specific interests or a specific type of person, for example: gifts for a sports lover, a book lover, a movie lover, a cooking lover, and so on. There can be many options depending on the type of product or service you offer.

3. Include themed gifts with purchase

Every customer likes free things. Including a gift with every purchase is always a great way to win them over and increase your sales. At Christmas you can give away items related to the season; whether the gift is big or small, your customer will appreciate the themed touch.

4. Run contests or activities to sell at Christmas

A contest, giveaway or some other Christmas-related activity with good prizes is a good idea to attract your audience, especially at this time of year, which involves a lot of spending. It will bring attention to your business and your products, and you can win many potential customers.

5. Selling at Christmas means designing seasonal merchandise

Just as you can tap into people's excitement about Christmas by reinventing your graphic identity and giving away themed items, you can also do it by creating Christmas versions of your products. You can do this by changing the packaging or making your product Christmas-themed. You can use the colors of the season or things that represent it, such as Christmas trees, Santa Claus, reindeer, stars, and more.

6. Encourage your customers to use your products in their Christmas activities

Throughout the Christmas season, people carry out many traditions and activities, such as making certain specific dishes and desserts, decorating the house, and more, and you can use these activities to promote your products.

For example: if you sell food or baking products, create a recipe using your products; if you sell stationery, you can offer a tutorial for a Christmas craft to give as a gift or use as decoration; if you run a clothing store, you can show your customers different ways to combine your products to put together a great outfit for the holidays. The goal is to find a good way to show your customers that your products or services are the best for their Christmas activities.

These ideas can help you build a good strategy to sell at Christmas. Put them to the test using your creativity and get more reach and more sales.
